Introduction
"Before entering the water, the swimmer observes the ocean. The first stage is reading the conditions: the swell, the waves, the wind, the currents, the tides, the shape of the coastline, and the position of rocks or other obstacles."
The quotation above comes from Body Surfing Routines, a short technical text condensing my experience and knowledge of body surfing into a concise introduction. Although written as a practical document, it became the seed for several other projects, including a short film script and Tao of Ocean Swimmer, the work presented on this page.
Tao of Ocean Swimmer was originally intended as a short break from the more technical research book Crystal 333, which demanded greater scientific discipline. Instead, it gradually expanded into a much broader account of my path as an ocean swimmer, interwoven with many other aspects of my life. What began as a small side project eventually grew into a complete book.
For this reason, this website presents selected excerpts together with links to the complete manuscripts hosted on Google Drive. Until the book is published as a commercial edition, these documents provide access to the full text. The project is currently in its final stage, with the last chapters being completed and the entire manuscript undergoing editing and updates.
The long-term goal is to transform this page into a purely HTML publication with rich internal navigation. Rather than reading linearly, visitors will be able to enter the book through different chapters and follow their own path. The detailed map of the project is designed not only for navigation, but also as part of the research itself.
For many years I have explored the possibility of mapping human life and experience as nodes in time-space (TS nodes). Each node represents a particular state of experience and energy recorded with sufficient precision. Such mapping may allow us to mentally reconnect with moments from the past or to create projections into future moments. This is not time travel in the physical sense, but a metaphor for reconnecting with specific states of consciousness and experience.
Mapping is the first step of every journey. A carefully constructed map defines locations [in case of life-map also temporal coordinates] and paths between them. Since we are investigating the technicalities of time-travel, the roads are replaced by gates, portals and/or bridges. Hyperlinks of the language HTML are the main inspirations for an eventual navigation. With such a map we may reconnect with the experience of climbing a mountain, catching a memorable wave, or living through an exceptional moment of love. By revisiting recorded Time-Spaces Knots, we may recharge ourselves in the present, retrieving once generated energy.
Body Surfing Routines could serve as a structured metaphor for almost any activity. Per analogiam the structure of Tao of Ocean Swimmer could serve as a model of map of your own life-journey. I hope you find some inpiration for your own Tao.

I am at the ocean.
How did I get here? That is a long story. The short answer is simple: I was following a call.
This is not my first sunset by the ocean. It is one of countless sunsets I have witnessed. Tonight I am on the Pacific coast, but reaching this place required a long journey through many countries, many coastlines, and many chapters of life.
What matters most is that I feel deeply connected with the present moment.
Every sunset is the culmination of the day. I find a moment to gather everything that happened, to allow the organism to settle with new information, to breathe out what is no longer needed—especially unnecessary emotions—and to express gratitude for another day lived according to my own choices, in a place that inspires me and belongs to my dream journey. It can be performed as any form of meditation.
Tonight is a special evening.
After my meditation I join a small birthday gathering on the beach. There is no bonfire this time, only a few candles. About eight people are sitting together while others stop by for a while. Most are friends from San Pancho. I do not know the birthday woman personally, but we introduce ourselves, and since this stretch of beach is, in a way, my territory, I am often welcomed into these spontaneous gatherings.
I like birthday celebrations.
Every person celebrating a birthday reminds me that every day could become my own birthday. Every day offers the possibility of making a wish, marking a transition, creating a personal threshold in time. It is a chance to summarize who we have become and to project ourselves toward who we wish to become.
I am known for asking unusual questions.
What is your biggest dream?
What is the name you aspire to?
What is your mission?
What is the special magic that belonged to you as a child, before education and society gradually reprogrammed your vision of the world?
The inner child never completely disappears. During my journeys I was fortunate enough to reconnect with mine in a profound way. When I arrive at a gathering like this, I often feel I represent that inner child grown into an adult magician. Naturally, I ask others about their own magic.
My own magic is the translation of the ocean.
The waves constantly carry information. Most people experience them simply as water reaching the shore. I experience them as a language. By interacting with them every day, I learn patterns that many visitors never notice. My work is to translate this oceanic language into forms that other people can experience.
Sometimes the translation becomes movement.
Sometimes dance.
Sometimes touch or massage.
Sometimes a guided meditation.
The form depends on the person, on their openness, and on their level of awareness.
In San Pancho, however, the translation usually takes the form of conversation.
One of my favorite questions is simple:
What is your special magic—the gift you would naturally express if you no longer believed in your limitations?

Dolphin Flop
Eventually, after years of swimming, the next breakthrough came from a completely unexpected direction.
It did not come from a training plan.
It did not come from stronger muscles, more repetitions, or a better technical analysis.
It came from playfulness.
When I finally moved to Tenerife and started living by the ocean, swimming changed its nature. The ocean was no longer a place I visited for a training session. It became my everyday environment.
I was fortunate to begin my days with the ocean. Sometimes I entered once, sometimes several times during the day. I was no longer limited by swimming pool schedules, lanes, distance calculations, or the structure of a workout.
I had freedom.
And with freedom came experimentation.
This was also the period when I consciously started reconnecting with my inner child. Previous chapters of my life had required many adult decisions, responsibilities, and challenges. Now I was searching for another quality of experience: curiosity, creativity, and the ability to explore without a fixed goal.
I started playing in the water.
I was not trying to invent a technique.
I was simply interacting with the ocean.
The beach where I lived had periods of safe conditions, with waves breaking over sand. Sometimes, instead of avoiding the wave, I allowed myself to be moved by it. I experimented with different ways of meeting the energy of the water.
At first, I would simply roll with the wave.
Then I started moving toward it.
I discovered that there is a special moment before a wave breaks. Before the foam appears, there is a clean wall of water—a moving shape with its own structure and energy. Later, I learned that surfers call the highest point of the wave the peak.
Naturally, I became fascinated by the peak.
I wanted to reach it.
I started swimming toward the wave and feeling how the moving wall of water interacted with my body. Sometimes the wave would lift me upward. Sometimes it would push me higher than the wave itself.
Then something unexpected happened.
For a brief moment, I left the water.
The wave passed underneath me, but I had not yet fallen back into the water behind it.
I was flying.
It lasted only a fraction of a second, perhaps half a second.
But the sensation was unforgettable.
The movement of my body naturally connected with the dolphin movement I had explored before. The arms, the undulation, and the energy of the wave became one movement.
This was the beginning of what I called the Dolphin Flop.
The name came from dolphins themselves. Dolphins are masters of movement in the ocean. They jump, play, and interact with waves not because they need to achieve a result, but because movement itself is part of their nature.
The Dolphin Flop was discovered from this same principle.
It was not created as a competitive swimming technique. It emerged from curiosity.
It was a movement beyond ordinary swimming—a moment when the swimmer stops only moving through water and begins cooperating with the movement of water.
Swimming becomes interaction.
The ocean becomes a playground.
The body becomes an instrument of exploration.
The lesson of Dolphin Flop is that after discipline comes another stage: freedom.
First we learn.
Then we practice.
Then, sometimes, we let go and discover something new.
The river taught me to enter the moving world of water.
The swimming pool taught me discipline.
Yoga taught me connection.
The ocean taught me play.
And through play, a new dimension of swimming was discovered.

3.5 Conscious Rebirth
Among all the experiences of Playa 333, the deepest transformation was the process of rebirth.
Rebirth can happen through a single powerful moment, a ceremony, or through a long path of conscious change. It is the moment when a person recognizes that an old chapter has ended and chooses to enter a new one.
Biological birth happens without our decision. We enter the world through the natural processes of the body and through the work of our mother.
Adult human beings have another possibility: conscious rebirth.
We can participate in our own transformation.
This process requires leaving behind previous structures, previous identities, and previous interpretations of reality. It requires a moment of becoming open again, like the inner child before the world has completely shaped us.
The process is a form of unlearning.
Some knowledge remains. Some skills remain. The experiences necessary for survival and for interaction with the world remain. But many old programs, fears, limitations, and fixed interpretations can be released.
The person creates space for something new.
The old identity symbolically dies, so another version can emerge.
This idea was deeply connected with my own path.
My rebirth was not one isolated ceremony. It was a continuous process condensed into a series of decisions: following the call, leaving behind previous structures, arriving in Tenerife, and entering a completely different way of living.
The previous chapter of my life was completed.
A new chapter began on Playa 333.
The ancient masters understood this process. The old goat shepherd, connected with the wisdom of nature, carried a simple but profound message: to discover a new reality, a person has to leave behind the certainty of previous knowledge and open themselves to direct experience.

4.6 Atlantic NE
The storm caught us soon after leaving the protection of Madeira's influence. We experienced strong acceleration, large waves and heavy rain. I remember Martin dancing in the middle of the storm, completely connected with the power of nature and enjoying the intensity of the moment.
The tempest lasted only one night, and afterwards the sea became calmer again.
Martin explained that this difficult navigation against the wind was extremely valuable experience. A classic Atlantic crossing often uses the trade winds: the captain raises sails and continues with a relatively constant wind. Our journey was different. We had to search constantly for the correct angle, adjust the sails and actively manage the boat. It was manual sailing at a high level of attention.
When we reached the position of the Azores, slightly east of the islands, I experienced another important moment. During the voyage I had written and edited Constitution of Realm 69, the foundational document of the imaginary realm I represent as Custodian Ignis.
The document was declared on international waters.
The position was symbolically recorded as 333 miles SE off Azores. The declaration was performed beyond national borders, witnessed by a captain of a sailing vessel on the open ocean.
Dolphins finally appeared again, and I included them symbolically as witnesses acknowledging the existence of this declaration within the larger network of intelligent beings on Earth.
The mission of creating and declaring the Constitution was completed.
During this voyage there was also a mutual exchange between Martin and myself. I learned navigation from him, but he also received something from our conversations about education, culture and other dimensions of life beyond sailing. Although he was my teacher in navigation, our relationship developed into a friendship between equals.
Long ocean voyages create strong bonds. Sometimes people discover during such journeys that they cannot continue together. Friendships, couples and partnerships can break under the intensity of constant proximity and pressure. In our case, the opposite happened. The shared experience strengthened our respect and created a brotherhood.
After reaching the proximity of Azores, we finally found the western winds we had been chasing. The situation completely changed. Instead of fighting against the wind, we could use it naturally and begin the final direction toward France.
